Lowered Immunity and Consequences of Chronic Inflammation

It is widely argued that cellular inflammation is the single highest cause of age-related diseases. Researchers are exploring connections between inflammation and the major killers of our time including cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other serious clinical problems.

Factors such as lack of sleep, stress, being overweight, poor diet, deficiencies of Vitamin D and omega 3 fatty acids among other things can impair the immune system and provoke chronic inflammation. This can contribute to joint disease and pain, cardiovascular disease, colds and , cancer, arthritis, nerve pain and premature aging.

Studies conducted by the Natural Marketing Institute report that 29 percent of the population is looking for ways to reduce inflammation. More than half of the respondents in the study turned to the use of probiotics, or the ‘friendly bacteria’ that live in out intestinal tract, as part of the solution.

Research in functional medicine, which examines primary prevention and underlying causes instead of the symptoms for serious chronic disease, and traditional medicine, suggests that selected probiotics, like those used to produce Del-Immune V® and Delpro, provide an additional tool to help the body protect itself. Research findings also report that probiotic cultures have been shown to stimulate certain cellular, biochemical and antibody functions of the immune system. In addition, some studies have observed improved survival of pathogen-infected laboratory animals that were given probiotic cultures as compared to animals consuming a control diet.

Until researchers discover cures for cancer, diabetes and other such killers (or a fountain of youth to halt cellular inflammation), we will have to be proactive in keeping our immune systems healthy and active. To learn more about how Del-Immune V® can help boost your immune system, click here.
